I love getting my hair braided. From knotless braids, to goddess braids, to boho braids — I love it all. But inflation is real and getting box braids is more expensive than ever. The quality of the braiding hair you use matters, especially if you’re getting boho braids or goddess braids, which requires human hair. But fear not, you can get some quality human braiding hair without dropping thousands of dollars.
Here are my go-to braiding hair brands, all ones I’ve used before:
Y Wigs Bulk Human Hair
For the wavy ends of my goddess braids, I used the Deep Wave hair in 4/27. The hair is extremely soft, manageable and did not tangle, even though I had my braids in for three months and washed it multiple times. This brand has a range of textures and colors and the hair is perfect for if you want to do a full head of human hair knotless braids. You can use my code ASHLEYEDWARDS for 15% off your purchase!
Sensationnel Ruwa Pre-Stretched Water Repellent Braiding Hair
This is my go-to hair for knotless braids. This hair is extremely lightweight, which is great for my fine hair. Best of all, this hair is water repellent and fast drying, making it perfect for if you are going to be in the pool, at the beach, or if you just want to wash your braids regularly. Also, my scalp has gotten irritated from a lot of different braiding hair but not this one. However, always make sure to wash your braiding hair before installing it.
Starlet Bulk Braiding Hair
When I got boho braids for the first time, I used Starlet Wet and Wavy braiding hair for the curly pieces. I also used this brand when I got a full head of human hair braids to get a Zoe Kravitz look. This hair sheds but not terribly and is lightweight. It gave me a very natural look and lasted through swimming under waterfalls, working out, and lots of beach days.
